The results are in from the Tadpoles gala 2010
and once again dippers swimmers featured prominently in the awards
and medals.
Although we only had a small team over the two evenings of the gala,
each of the swimmers did themselves, their parents and the club
proud with some outstanding performances to achieve awards and/or
PBs.
Most of our swimmers picked up a medal, trophy or the equally prized
‘speeding ticket’ for one or more of their swims and in the overall
combined awards for ‘Top Boy’ and ‘Top girl’ in each age category we
had the following winners :
Anna Burton – 9yr girls B grade
Olivia Archibald – 10yr girls B grade
James Martin – 10yr boys B grade
Richard Decaux – 13/14 yr boys B grade
Very well done to them as well as the rest of the team.
The Tadpoles gala is an excellent introduction to competitive
swimming and the club urges all our children whether novice or
experienced to take part in the event – everyone who wants to swim
will swim.
WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A BIGGER TEAM NEXT YEAR !
Due to the timing of the event (it is held in September coinciding
with the return to school from the summer holidays) entries have to
be received in early July so we would urge all parents to make a
note in their diaries of the date of the next tadpoles gala (it will
be posted in good time on the events section of the website and on
our notice board at the leisure centre.
