Wow! What a great first week of the annual tadpoles gala.
The Stockport Grand Central pool was buzzing with the kind of atmosphere that only a swimming gala can generate.
We were competing against representatives of eight other swimming
clubs – Hyde, Wilmslow, Romiley, Hazel grave, Davenport, Marple,
Reddish, Stockport and our team did the Dippers proud with every
swimmer winning a trophy, medal or speeding ticket in at least one
of their races.
Stand out performances on the night came from Olivia Archibald,
Hannah Hatton and Danielle Lomas who in the 25m Butterfly, 50m
Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke respectively came outright top of
their age category.
Many thanks to Colin for creating the race order spreadsheet which
proved very successful on the night and to Louise Lomas and Donna
Martin for organising the children poolside and most especially to
each and every one of the Dippers swimmers who were a credit to the
club both in and out of the pool.
The only downside was that as far as we know we did not win the
raffle!
Well done to everyone and now let’s look forward to the second half
of the event on the 26th September.
